2020 has been a crazy year.
Especially for weddings, Most brides had to cancel or reschedule their weddings this year and it broke my heart. A lot of clients I had had to postpone for 2021 and they were beyond upset about it.
But some of them decided they still wanted to get married, even if it meant smaller ceremonies with just family or no family at all.
Toni and Dylan decided the pandemic wasn't going to stop them from exchanging their vows.
They had decided on a sunrise elopement at Lost Gulch Lookout in Colorado. I met them at their hotel around 5am and watched as they prepared for the best day of their lives. After a few minor set backs, Toni looked beautiful. Dylan looked so handsome in his navy blue tux with a burnt orange accent tie! They were ready to get married!
They met in the hotel lobby and did their first look. Even before Toni walked out, Dylan started getting emotional. Which led me to being emotional. But then again I always cry at weddings because I'm a huge sap.
There was also another reason behind being so emotional during this day....Toni was pregnant! And no body knew except for Toni, Dylan and I. They were planning to tell their family during the family photos as a big surprise.
After their beautiful first look, we headed over to their elopement site. Sadly, it was cloudy that day, so the lookout wasn't as visible as we had liked, but it was still gorgeous and gave such a moody vibe and I was totally there for it.
The ceremony was beautiful and well said, I even shed a tear or two as I watched behind my camera lens. I could tell they were also preparing for the moment they tell their family they were becoming a party of 3. The had so much emotion behind their vows, especially the part about their future family.
Eventually, the sealed it with a kiss!
Once we took some family pictures, we decided to do a "silly" one and when the count of 3 ended, they said "we're pregnant!"
At first, it didn't register until they all looked at each other in shock. Toni and Dylan had the biggest smile on their face as their families congratulated them. It was such an honor to be apart of this moment with them.
This was the perfect day for the perfect couple. They were such a joy to be around and I can't wait to see what their future holds, them and their little one!
Xoxo,
Amanda
